Hawke’s Bay Board’s Poll Dominion Special Service. Napier, March 3. Wednesday, -March 25, baa been set down as the date for the poll of Hawke.s Bay Rivers Board ratepayers, which is to be takeu for the purpose of eecuring approval of the board's £60,000 loan for the Ngaruroro River control scheme. A lengthy statement outlining the boards proposals was placed before the board at its meeting yesterday by tbe chairman, Mr. C. Lassen. On the motion of Mr. AV. Campbell, seconded by Mr. L. L. Harris, tho report was endorsed. Mr. J. U. Sheath congratulated Mr. Lassen on the manner in which the scheme had been placed before the ratepayers, and expressed the view that the board s efforts wou.d meet with success.
