Russell, the American journalist. who stood for the Governorship of New York at the last election, and who is now in Auckland, agrees with the cabled prediction that war between America and Japan will break out within the next twelve months. » * * Prospecting work in connection with the Lake Coleridge hydro-electric scheme is still progressing, a gang of twelve men being employed putting in a drive, sinking shafts find boring to ascertain if solid reck exists in the vicinity of the proposed outlet.
