TO MEET TO-MORROW
Public Administration Conference Matters relating to the co-ordination and control of tlie various societies of public administration that are in existence in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin will ■be dealt with at a Dominion conference which will open in Wellington to-mor-row. The movement will then assume a national rather than a local character and, it is considered, will receive greater support. Tlie main objects of tlie institute are as follow:— “To maintain and further tlie high ideals and traditions of the public service; to promote good relations between the members of different branches of the public service; and to encourage interest in their profession.” "To promote the study of (a) the vocational or professional practice of public administration ; (b) tbe machinery necessarj’ for the efficient daydiyday practice of public administration; and (c) historical, economic and political science, wiili special reference to public administration and constitutional law and practice. “To facilitate the exchange of information and thought on administrative and related questions with a view to the increased efficiency of the public service, and the creation of a well-in-formed public opinion concerning the service; to provide opportunities for the acquisition and dissemination of useful information concerning the public services of this and other countries, and to develop the technique of administration.
“To procure the establishment of a university diploma or diplomas in public administration.”
