Conference of Centre Delegates By Telegraph—Press Association. 1 Dunedin, February 28. A conference of delegates from centres affiliated to the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held to-night, the president of the Otago centre, Mr. G. Tapley, being in the chair.
A Canterbury remit recommending an amendment to the constitution of the New Zealand Council to enable centres to have direct voting powers in the election of office-bearers was adopted.
A further Auckland remit advocating provision for the inclusion of 50 yards, 100 yards, 80 yards hurdles and field events for women in New Zealand national championships was defeated. A motion recommending that the title of national championships be altered to national track and field games was carried. A remit from the Auckland centre recommending reconsideration of the inclusion of junior events in national championships each year or the holding of a junior' championship meeting annually was carried.
