“BIRDS OF THE NIGHT”

Revue Company Coming to St. James In “Birds of the Night,” the new revue which will be presented at the St. James Theatre shortly by the Frank O’Brian Revue Company. Janice Hart, who was so popular here a few years ago, will take the role originally played by the famous Josephine Baker. Janice sings and dances her way round the world in this production in Spanish, Hawaiian and Parisian numbers, and Frank O’Brian is at his funniest. There are some very spectacular scenes in the show and some catchy melodies. The supporting cast is unusually good. A daring diversion from the accepted canons of variety-revue, "Les Oiseaux de Nuit,” adapted into English under the title of “Birds of the Night,” reflects the spirit of variety of 1936. Press notices in Australia were excellent, the show being described ns one of the' brightest and'most entertaining offered for many a long day.
