Employment In Canada.
The Canadian employment index. 103, is the highest since 1931, reports the Bureau of Statistics, with British Columbia showing the best increase In 15 years. Belief has decreased to one out of every 10 workers. British Road Accidents. Road accident figures in Britain during last week were 107 killed and 3356 injured, a Britisli official wireless message states. In the corresponding week last year the figures were 121 killed and 3351 injured. Progress with the laying down of four chains of experimental brick pavement in Jeryois Quay, Wellington, is proceeding as rapidly as the weather permits. The intention of the engineer in charge is to wait until the whole of the bricks are down before filling in the interstices with bitumen. In the meantime the quarter-inch space between the bricks is being gradually filled with debris blown from the road in the vicinity of the wharf, which may prove difficult .to clefin put. '
