CHAMPION DEFEATED
Sculling Race at Sydney (Received February 28, 10.5 p.m.) Sydney, February 28. Cecil Pearce, New South Wales sculling champion,' again defeated Herb Turner, Australian champion, to-day. The contest was a team race over 2000 metres, ordered by the Australian selectors as a guide to Olympic representation. Pearce, who appeared better able to cope with the somewhat rough water, won by four lengths in 7min. 52sec. j On February 8 Pearce, a cousin of Bobby Pearce, defeated Turner by five lengths for the New South Wales championship. . ; - ;
