Inquiry in Australia COMMITTEE ESTABLISHED (Received February 29. 12.30 a.m.)' Canberra, February 28. Mr. J. A. Lyons, Federal Prime Minister, announced that the Federal Cabinet has decided to conduct an inquiry .into certain important aspects of nutrition in Australia, It has been decided to establish an advisory committee with the Director-General, of Health, Dr. Cumpston, as chairman and university and other representatives. There will be. local committees in all States. The actual investigation work will mostly be done at the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Sydney University. The existing diet of various sections of the population will be examined, prevailing practices, in relation to diet will be studied and ultimately any defects and possible remedies will be indicated. It will be recalled that Australia brought the question of nutrition before the League of Nations and the Federal Government therefore decided that Australia should not be behind other countries in investigating her own conditions and making contributions therefrom to the general pooling 6f world knowledge;
