PRISONERS SENTENCED
Greymouth Supreme Court try Telegraph—Press Greymouth, February 28. In the Supreme Court to-day the following prisoners were sentenced byMr. Justice Northcroft:— Janies Carter, aged 25, eighteen months’ reformative detention, for indecent assault on a girl aged eleven at Reefton. Norman Walter Jones, aged 42, married, accountant, for the theft of £1227 as a servant of Duncan McLean, Ltd.. Greymouth, reformative detention not exceeding two years. Harry Infield Hodgson, aged aJ, single, waterside worker, of Westport, two years' probation for attempted indecent assault on another male at Westport- , , William James Morris, aged w, single, two years’ hard labour for false pretences, involving £212 of the Unemployment Board’s funds in connection with a subsidy for the construction of a hostel at Maruia Hot Springs, near Reefton. Catherine Ann Morris, aged 54, single, Yvlio was involved in tlio same offence, two years’ probation, the judge describing her as a catspaw for her brother.
