WHIPPET RACING

Y.M.C.A. Protest

The following molion, moved by Mr. H. W. Kersley and seconded by the Rev. J. E. Lopdell, was carried unanimously at a meeting of the directors of the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A.

“That this Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. board of directors protests most vigorously against whippet-racing on Sunday in the Hutt Valley, as this movement, in our opinion, will lead to the religious and moral degradation of the young people in whom we are specially interested.”
