LADY GALWAY’S CATCH

Thrilling sport was experienced during the week-end on Mayor Island deep-sea fishing grounds, the total catch by four launch parties being 16 swordfish, a thresher shark and four mako sharks.
Lady Galway and a party fishing from the Naomi caught four swordfish, two being landed by her Excellency, one by Captain Heber-Percy, A.D.C., and one by Mr. T. L. Scott. The heaviest weighed 3221 b. A party on the launch Dauntless caught nine swordfish, a thresher shark, and a mako shark. The swordfish ranged from 2851 b. to 3201 b., and the thresher weighed 5001 b. Mrs. Ingham, from the Tauranga launch Lady Mavis, caught a mako of 2451 b., and Mr. A. Temple Perkins, of Central Africa, fishing from the launch Kingfish,. innded three swordfish, weighing respectively 3841 b., 2401 b. and 2601 b., and two mako sharks, one of 3501 b.
