COUNTESS OF SELBORNE VISITS WELLINGTON The Countess of Selborue, who arrived at Auckland last week by the Otranto, is now visiting Wellington and is at the Hotel St. George. Although much travelled, the Countess has never before been in New Zealand. South Africa is one of the countries she knows best, as her husband, the Earl of Seiborne, was High Commissioner of South Africa and Governor of the Transvaal for five years. Most of their winters they spend abroad, but their home is in Blackmore, Hampshire, where the Countess is president of the Hampshire- Nursing Association. She was formerly president of the National Council of Women, and before women were given the franchise in England she was president of the Conservative Women's Reform Association.
