Mayor Makes Complaint at
Masterton
Dominion Special Service. Masterton, January 21.
Complaint of the lack of official knowledge as to procedure entailed by the death of the King was made at the meeting of the Masterton Borough Council last night by the Mayor, Mr. T. Jordan.
“I want you to know, gentlemen, that I have had no word from the Government,” observed the Mayor. “I waited expectantly for most of the afternoon until at 3 o’clock, in despair, I rang the Internal Affairs Department's office, but I drew a blank there. There was no one there. It is not right that people do not know where they stand.” A motion of sympathy with members of the Royal Family-was passed and the council adjourned for 10 minutes. •
