RIFLE SHOOTING

Upper Hutt Club The Upper Hutt club continued its championship series with a shoot at 900 yards at Trentham on Saturday. The light was good, but a strong fish-tail wind required close attention, and accounted for many shots going astray. Among the highest scores were R. McKendry, 42; J. Johnstone and D. Purvis. 41. Detailed results are as follow:—

University Club The Victoria University College Defence Rifle Club continued its programme with a shoot at 900 yards. A strong, gusty northerly wind proved very troublesome, and made good scores very hard to get, and. in these circumstances Taylor's 45 in his second practice was a creditable performance.
