WEDDINGS

Brook—Thompson At Sj. Andrew’s Church, Trentliam. recently, the marriage was. solemnised by the Rev. Mr. Hunt, of Vida Jean, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Thompson, Trentliam, to Edgar P. S., eldest sou of Mr. and Mrs. W. Brook. Kelburn Parade. Wellington. Mrs. Hinds presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a gown of .soft white silk crinkle-crepe, made on simple lines, with a cowl nock caught in front with a diamante clasp and long sleeves slashed at the top. The skirt was cut in flared lines, forming a train at the back, over which her veil (lent by her mother) fell from a chaplet of orang-? blossom into soft folds. She carried a sheaf of beautiful Madonna lilies tied with wide satin ribbon. The bridesmaid was Miss Mavis Thompson (sister of Hie bride) who was in a dress of eau-de-nii green silk georgette made with shirred puff sleeves. a flared skirt trimmed witli shaped frills, and a girdle witli two silver tassels. Sne carried a bouquet of pale pink carnations and maidenhair fern, tied with pink satin ribbon, and wore a bat of pink silk crinoline straw and pink mit tens. Mr. Roy Carlson, Tinakori Road, was best man. A small reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, where Mrs. Thompson received her guests wearing a brown silk marocain frock with hat to match. She carried a posy of red roses and asparagus fern. Mrs. Thompson was assisted by Mrs. Brook, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a brown floral ensemble, witli brow’ll

and lemon hat, and carried a posy of shaded marigolds and asparagus fern.

Mr. and Mrs. E. P. S. Brook left later by ear, the bride travelling in a pale blue, and pink silk floral sandcrepe frock with pale blue hat lined with georgette. She carried a fawn coat and handbag, the gift of the bride groom.
