EXCURSION TO PICTON

A final reminder is given holiday-mak-ers of the Rangatira’s excursion to Pictou to-morrow, Anniversary Day. Tiie vessel will leave Wellington at S a.m. lor the 52-mile run to Picton, where she will arrive about 10.30. A special train will leave Picton at 11 a.m. for Blenheim, returning before the steamer leaves. Those who decide to stay in Pictou will find a number of attractions to choose from. Chief among these will be the motor-boat races, of which the star item, the New Zealand championship speed-boat race for the Masport Cup, has been timed for 1 p.m., to allow the excursion passengers to see it. Steamer and launch cruises in the sound, occupying about three hours, will also be made from Picton, the cruises being arranged to allow of a view of the Masport Cup speedboat race. The Rangatira will leave Picton on her return at 2.30 p.m., and will arrive at Wellington shortly after five o’clock.
