University Senate Motion By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, January IS. The desirability of having in the Dominion an establishment for the training of veterinary surgeons was the subject of a motion passed at a meeting of the University Senate this morning. The motion, proposed by Mr. L. J. AVild, was that the professorial boards of Canterbury Agricultural College and Massey’ College be requested to report to the Senate on the need for training of veterinarians in the Dominion and on the estimated cost of establishment and maintenance of a school of veterinary science in association with their respective colleges. Speaking to the motion, Mr. AA’ild said there was no provision in New Zealand for young men wishing to qualify’ as veterinary surgeons and they had to face the expense of education overseas.
