Speaking at the official opening ot the Dominion Conference of the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union to-day, the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Mai tin, said the work of the division called for the highest commendation, par ticularly during the last few year.when the country hrfd faced many dif ficult problems. The division had done much good for the less fortunate classe? of the community. The Minister stated that the real reason for the crisis might be found in three words: Mammon versus God. The Government asked for co-opera-tion and assistance of the womenfolk of the community in carrying out itplans. Mr. Lee Martin added that the policy of guaranteed prices was no catch-cry. It would serve to remove much drudgery from the farmers’ life
