Anniversary Day Matches

At last night’s meeting of the mamigement committee bf the Wellington Mercantile Cricket League, presided over by Mr. J. J. Furlong, the resignation of Mr. AV. Perkins as secretary was received. Mr. G. P. Aldridge was appointed to the vacancy.

It was decided to postpone all fixtures for next Saturday on the occasion of the .M.C.C. v. New Zealand mutch. Reports from Messrs. AV. R. King and B. F. AA’hitmore. managers of the representative teams which played at Christchurch and at AVellington during the holidays, were received mid adopted. Applications wore received from the Labour-Tourist club seeking tlie remission of a fine recently inflicted. The application was refused.

Jt was decided to play inter-grade games and a mutch between the representative team and a team (to be selected) at Athletic Park on Anniversary Day. The following players will represent the Mercantile League:—E. McKenzie (captain). M. Liddicoat. AV. Jupp. A. Martin. R. Crook, J. MehUle, N. Aldridge, E. Mallard, F. de Clifford. F. Swain. P. Stiver.

The teams to bo selected will be published on Friday morning and any player not available should inform a responsible officer of the management committee.
