EXCURSION TO PICTON
A Cull day, and a varied one, should be spent by those who take the Rangatirii's excursion to Pieton on Wednesday next, Anuiveivary Day, leaving Wellington at 8 in the morning, and arriving back shortly, after sin the afternoon. The run down Wellington harbour, across the Strait, and up the smooih waters of Tory Channel and Queen Charlotte Sound, is no small pleasure in itself, besides which there wilt boa number of attractions for the exeursionistH to choose from after they reach Pieton about 10.30 a.m. Chief among these will be the motor-boat races, of which the star item, the Now Zealand championship speed-boat race for the Masport Cup. lias been purposely limed for 1 p.m. to allow the excursion passengers to see it. There will also be a special train to Blenheim after the Rangatira arrives, returning before she leaves again for Wellington fit 2.30 p.m. Steamer and launch cruises occupying about three hours will also be made from Pieton in the Sound, the cruise« being arranged to allow of a view of the Masport Speed-boat Cun Race.
