RIFLE SHOOTING
University Club At Trentham on Saturday the Victoria University College Defence Rifle Club continued its programme with a shoot at 800 yards. Weather conditions were unfavourable, for to an uncertain light—sudden alternations of brilliant sunshine with deep shadow —was added a gusty, uncertain wind. It was noticed on cue occasion that between consecutive shots it was necessary to make a 7 degree traverse, from 4 degrees left to 3 degrees right. The scores, obtained in each case from
the rifle, were as follows:— 1st. 2nd. Practice Prac. Ttl. Poss. II. 51. Sansum . .. 35 38 73 100 J. B. C. Taylor . 34 38 72 100 B. T>. A. Greig ... 43 43 50 T. It. C. Muir .... 41 — 41 50 H. .1. 51. Abraham 26 — 26 50 Next Saturday a shoot will be held at 900 yards.
