Nelson Apple Crop Heavier
A total of 902,591 cases of apples and pears, against 525,426 cases in the previous season, will be exported from the Nelson district this season, according to a provisional estimate made by orchardists. The first overseas shipment of the season, of 12,000 cases, will leave New Zealand by the Wriiwera on February 11. The Waiwera will load at. Auckland, Wellington and Lyttelton, and it is anticipated that the allotment will comprise Alfriston, Worcester, Pearmain, and Gravenstein varieties.
