London Wool Sales
OPENING TO-DAY
The January series of London wool sales is to open to-day, when it is anticipated that there will be keen competition with a further rise in prices on the rates current at the close of the last series on December 6. The offering is the smallest for any January sales since the- war. At the close of the last series on December 6. tile Bank of New Zealand’s London office quoted the following prices:
The Bank of New South Wales has received the following cable message from its London office dated January 11: —Wool: Keen demand anticipated at the opening .sale here on January 14. The expected rises over last sales close are merino 5 per cent.; crossbreds 5 to 7} per cent.
