Manor Park Events A stroke competition on the Manor Park links yesterday was won by R. Burgoyne-Thomas, with 84-18-66. Next came W. Packer,. 86-15-71; 11. Sherwood. 87-16-71; J. Smith, 87-15-72; E. Butler, 7S-6-72; A. S. T. Butler, 81-9-72. ■ A fourball best-ball competition was won by E. Butler and J. Smith, with a card reading 72-8-64. F. Page and J. L. Barnard came next, with 73-4-69, and then followed D. Butler and E. IV. Brockett, 75-6-69; and V. Flay and 11. Sherwood, 78-9-69. On Saturday next an 18-holes qualifying round will be played for a flight competition. The first and second rounds will be played on Sunday next, and the final on Wednesday (Anniversary Day). Shandon Club A medal round played on the Shandon links on Saturday resulted in a win for W. W. McCormick, with 84-16-68. H. A. Hansen, 88-18-70, and G. Y. Berry, 76-6-70, tied for second place, Hansen winning the toss. A bogey round played yesterday resulted: —Seniors: D. M. Boyd (4). 2 up; W. Gill (8), IV. J. Davidge (2), and 0. E. Hollis (set - .), all square. Juniors: C.‘ R. Johnston (15) and J. J. Evans (16) finished all square, Johnston winning on the toss. A fourball best-ball bogey resulted in W. Gil! (B)’and P. Garlick (14) finishing S up. The quarter-finals of the Summer Cup resulted as follow :—-Haughton beat Elliot, 7 and 6; Wild beat Young, 5 and 4: Hollis beat O’Brien. 5 and 4; Ogilvy beat Kretschmar, 7 and 6.
