Robertson—Howie A wedding of wide interest was celebrated at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Wanganui, oi> Saturday, when Marjorie, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Howie, “Airlie,” St. John’s Hill, Wanganui, and late of Hunterville, was married to John Stewart Hector, son of the late Mr. John Robertson, Dunedin, and Mrs. J. Robertson, of Melbourne. The Rev. John Paterson, M.A., officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a model frock of ivory satin riche, made on classical lines, tiie back falling into a train. The long, tight-flttihg sleeves were shirred at the shoulders and finished with tiny buttons and a point over the hands. The bodice was also shirred at the neck line, and finished with a soft roll collar. Over this was worn a lovely veil of Honiton lace, held in place with a satin and tulle coronet, finished with bunches of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of lilies.

Mrs, H. F. Low, sister of tiie bride, was matron of honour, wearing aciiuataine blue, moulded to the figure, featuring the Harding drop neck-line, and finished with capelets of nilcha

lace and flowers of self material. Her shower-bouquet was composed of pale pink carnations and roses. Small Pixie Lilburn, niece of the bride, wore a blue frock of the same shaJe, with pleated fichu finished with rose of same material, and she carried a posy of pink roses and sweet peas and minature dahlias. Mr. Maurice Alexander (Mangaweka) was best man, and the ushers were Messrs. A. Chisholm and Harold Low. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Elrick rooms, and afterward at tiie residence of Mr. and Mrs. Howie, when Mrs. Howie received her guests, wearing black basket-weave georgette and lace ensemble, with black hat. „ , When Mr. and Mrs. J. S. H, Robertson left, the latter wore a grey tailored suit with navy accessories. ♦ * * Syme—Currie A quiet wedding was solemnised at Christ Church, Wanganui, on Saturday moriiing, when Jean, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. AV. Currie, Wicksteed Street, Wanganui, was married to David, youngest son of Mr. G. Syme and the late Mrs. Syme, Hawera. The Ven Archdeacon Young officiated, with Mr. N. Slater at the organ, _ The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a dainty frock of floral starched ninon, with picture hat of blue straw, and she carried a sheaf of blue delphiniums. Her sister, Miss Joyce Currie, was bridesmaid, wearing blue-figured uncrushable crepe, with natural straw hat, and holding a pink and blue bouquet. , , Mr. Rod Syme, of Hawera, was best man. After the ceremony relatives and close’friends were present at the reception held at Mr. and Mrs. Currie’s residence. Mrs. Currie wore a black coat over a floral crepe de chine frock, and a black hat. When Mr. and Mrs. D. Syme left, tiie latter wore a natural linen suit with navy hat, blouse and shoes. Their future home will be in Wellington. * » z MacArthur—Waistell The wedding was recently solemnised at St. James’s Church, Lower Hutt, between Margaret Ruby, daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. E. Waistell, and Angus, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. MacArthur. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr. W. Stewart, wore a frock o£ white silk marocain trimmed with pink pearls, with lace yoke and sleeves. Her embroidered tulle veil was caught to tiie head with a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a pink and white shower bouquet. Bible class girls formed a guard of honour, and as the bridal pair left the church Paulett Simon presented the bride with a horseshoe. Attending the bride were Misses May Stewart, Esma AVaistell and little Valerie Stewart. The older maid wore a frock of powder-blue silk crepe finished with ■ a large pink bow, and carried a bouquet to tone. The small girls were in long pink frocksi, picot-edged with blue, and carried posies to tone. Mr. James Stewart was best man, and the Rev. 11. E. K. Fry was the officiating clergyman.
