KING SOLOMON MINE
Quarterly Report During the three months ended November 30, the King .Solomon Deep Lead Mine produced a total of 9530 z. of gold, an average of over 730 z. per week, which is considered very satisfactory. Recently the directors had given particular attention to the question of Hie pumping and power plant at the mine, and after full consideration they decided to purchase a specially designed pump of large capacity, complete with motor, and certain electrical equipment necessary to nut the installation in first-class order. More efficient working is aimed at. and in addition tlie pump will provide an extra measure of protection to the mine. The nlant was ordered at the end of September. and should be delivered early in the new year. r l’he mine manager reports as follows: Prospecting work underground was chiefly confined tn the south section of the mine. A large footage of driving has been done with varying results. Goldbearing wash has been exposed at a point 600 feet south of the shaft. _ This lead was giving promise of continuing and developing into a bed of wash, when the whole system wiw proved to be disclocatod by reversed faulting. The strike of the fault is cast and west, and dipping to the south. The indications are that the disturbed area was caused by faulting subsequent to Um deposition of the gold-bear-ing was’h. Blocking nut lias been continuous. It is intended durinv the Christmas holidays to ent n chamber to the north side of the si’ni’t to provide for the now nnmning set. The mine is now closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays and will bo reopened on January 6. Base Metals Market By Telegraph I’ress Assn Copyright (Received December 27. 9 p.m.) London.
