(Second Christmas Page)
Dear Boys and Gilds, — So Christinas, with its great blessing, has come and gone, and you are enjoying your holidays to the utmost. Bor summer has not forgotten us, after all. Here it is so hot that the heat rises up from the pavement in waves, and the people arc scurrying, scurrying down to the sea with the cool, friendly beaches and the waves. The city was a fairy place on Christmas Eve—people simply surged up and down the streets, outside and in. The shops, all lit up with lights and toys and wondrous things, were crowded beyond belief, and sonic of the streets were bedecked with coloured, elfin lights which had been flung across from each side and jostled and shook as the trains rushed by. Everywhere was the spirit of festivity—people’s greetings were on their lips as they passed, and somewhere teas music . . . and singing. May you all have happy, joyful holidays! KI yj
