IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL
Late Corporal McDougall An impressive tribute to Ute esteem in which the late Corporal Charles (“Scottie”) McDougall (24/1726), King’s Corporal, who was a member of the staff at, Parliament. Buildings, was held was paid by the large assemblage at, his funeral, which took place at the Soldiers’ Cemetery at Karori. As a tribute of respect to their late comrade each one of the returned soldiers present placed a poppy on the coffin. The Hon. -P. Fraser and Mr. R. A. Wright. M.P.. represented the Government, Lieutenant-Colonel S. G. Sandle, sergeant-at-arms, and Mr. J. Taylor, chief messenger, the staff, and Mr. K. Calders, the Returned Soldiers’ Association. Tbe pall-bearers were: Mr. C. A. L. Treadwell, the late Corporal McDougall’s officer and friend at the war, and Messrs. J. Leslie, W. Bedford and G. Hawkins, returned men who are messengers at the House.
