The minimum temperature on Thursday night was 54.0 deg., the maximum yesterday 56.9 deg., and at 4 p.m. the reading was 55.0 deg. Rainfall at ‘'The Dominion” building for 24 hours ended midnight, .G9in. Rainfall for December, l.Slin.; for year, 36.55 in. Palmerston North. — After heavy rain overnight, the morning broke dull and overcast, with scattered showers. Temperatures cool; light easterly wind. Masterton. — Fairly continuous rain; cool temperature; light, south-westerly breeze; almost a winter’s day. Wanganui.— Dull, overcast and showery with cooler temperatures. Waipukurau.— Steady, warm rain fell all day and still continued last night. Auckland. —A light to moderate westerly wind and cloudy, threatening weather, with intervals of sunshine. The barometer was steady at 29.75 in. all day. Christchurch. — Dull and overcast after rain during the night; maximum temperature 61.5 deg.; barometer steady at 30.07 in. Dunedin. —A moderate north-east wind and fine but cloudy weather. The maximum temperature was 57deg.
