PINEAPPLE CANDY The ingredients required for this recipe are:— 1 teacup of finely chopped pineapple, 1 teacup of sugar, half a teacup of milk, 1 tablespoon of orange juice, and 1 dessertspoon of golden syrup. Place the sugar and milk in an enamelled saucepan on the stove and stir until the sugar melts. Then add the syrup and bring to the boil. Nest put. in the pineapple and orange juice, and bring the mixture to the boil again, and let it boil for 10 minutes stirring all the time. Take the saucepan off the fire and leave to cool for five minutes, and then beat hard with a wooden spoon until the mixture begins to set. Pour on a greased tin, and when cold cut into squares. A GOOD FUDGE This recipe makes a delicious fudge, which literally melts in your mouth. Put into a saucepan 2 cups sugar, 4 cup milk, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon cocoa. Boil without stirring for ten (10) minutes. then take off fire and beat till very thick. Pour into buttered dish. —From Morning Glory (13), Masterton.
