LABOUR MEMBERS OF HARBOUR BOARD
Congratulations on New Honours The Labour , members of the Wellington Harbour Board who were appointed to Cabinet rank or received other high office in the new Government were congratulated by. the chairman, Mr. T. R. Barren, at a meeting of the board last night. Mr. BaiTer said that he believed from what he knew of the Hon. W. Nash, the Hon. R. Semple, the Hon. M. Fagan, and the Hon. P. Fraser that they would acquit themselves well. A high honour had been conferred upon them, and be offered them the. sincere congratulations of the board.
Mr. Nash, in returning thanks on behalf of his colleagues, said that Mr. Savage’s trouble was that he could not have 53 members in the Cabinet. The Government had received offers of help from all sections of the community which were deeply appreciated. “The only thing we hope to do during the first Labour Parliament,” he said, “is to establish a foundation that will ensure that everybody willing to work will receive his fair share of the things he helps to produce.”
