Outbreak in Wellington In reporting the theft of two car’s from the Town Hall and Taranaki Street areas last night, the Automobile Association, Wellington, stated that car thefts in the city were rife, a number of cases having been reported during the week. ’The thieves are apparently adept at locating cars which can be quickly, removed and ascertaining if the ignition key is left in Hie lock or whether the car can be started in any oilier way. In one ease reported last night all the doors of the car bad been locked, and Hie owner had the right to feel secure. The ignition key was left, however, and the thieves must have been quick to notice this.

The association warns ear owners to use every possible means of securing their cars when left in the streets, particularly at night.
