FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Cloudy to overcast; rain in most districts; temperatures mild.
Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 4 p.m. to-day. Light nusty ram probable also on parts of the north-eastern portion of the South Island. Elsewhere fair to fine. Temperatures mild to warm. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER. Wellington.— There was a little sunshine during the afternoon, but for the greater part or the day the sky was overcast. A moderate to strong south-east wind prevailed. The minimum temperature on Monday night was 06.4 deg.; the maximum yesterday was 64.8 deg., aiitl the temperature at 4 p.m. was U4.3deg. ' .Rainfall at “The Dominion” building for 24 hours, ended midnight, nil. Rainfall for December,'.loin.; for year, 34.87 in. Auckland.— Fresh north-east wind and overcast, showery weather; barometer steady all day at 30.10 in. 1 Palmerston North. — Warm sunshine, but much cooler than for past few days. Hazy conditions; steady easterly wind. Masterton: Dull and cloudy; several light rain showers; gusty easterly breeze.
Wanganui.— The morning was close, fine and cloudy, and the afternoon dull and overcast, with occasional showers of rain. VVaipuhurau.— Warm but overcast during the morning; one hour of steady rain at noon, clearing in the afternoon. Intermittent showers fell in the early evening, the temperature dropping by 7 p.m. to 65deg. Christchurch. — Sunny and fine with a moderate east-north-east breeze; maximum temperature 6S.9deg.; barometer steady at 30.28 in. Dunedin. — Ideal summer weather was experienced to-day, with bright sunshine and -a light north-east breeze. The maximum temperature was 68deg.
