POLICE FAREWELL

Detective-Sergeant T. Y. Hall TRANSFER TO DUNEDIN After seven years in Wellington. Detective-Sergeant T. Y. Hall left for Dunedin on transfer in last evening’s ferry steamer express. Detective-Sergeant Hall was well known and widely respected by all with whom he eame into contact in the course of an unusually diverse experience. He was also exceedingly popular within the police force itself, and prior to his departure the Chief Detective, Sub-Inspector J. Carroll, presented him with a set of statutes, autographed by his colleagues. Sub-Inspector Carroll spoke in appreciative terms of Mr. Hall’s ability and wished him happiness and success in his new position. Other members of the detective branch joined with these good wishes and expressed their thanks for the help which he had given them.
