UNSUCCESSFUL CLAIM

Action For Compensation Compensation for injuries to bis chest received while working for the Wellington Harbour Board was claimed from the board by Daniel Burke, Harbour Board employee, in the Court of Arbitration. Mr. Justice Page-was on the Bench, and associated with him were Mr. W. Cecil Prime (employers’ assessor) and Mr. A. L. Monteith (workers’ assessor). Mr. F. W. Ongley appeared for plaintiff, and the Wellington Harbour Board was represented by Mr. W. R. Kemp. Plaintiff claimed that he was temporarily totally incapacitated as a result of the accident. The defence alleged that he was tit for work and held that sufficient had been paid into court to compensate plaintiff fully. After medical evidence had been heard, the court said it was of the opinion that the amount paid was adequate.
