GRAIN AND PRODUCE Auckland Markets' Dominion Special Service. Auckland, December 17. . The local grain and produce markets are still suffering from the vagaries of the Australian shipping position. A merchant stated this morning that there was not a sack of Australian pollard available in Auckland. This means that the whole weight of the demand for this centre is thrown on to the local mills, and they are compelled to ration orders. Bran is not so scarce, and a continuation of the present rains will revive the pastures and lessen the demand for this line. Prices are unchanged. Two shipments of fowl wheat came front Australia last week, but they were not heavy, and merchants’ orders were curtailed. There hits been no alteration in the horse feed position except that New Zealand feed oats are now practically off the market, which is wholly dependent upon Australian. The potato market, has been fairly stable since last week, and merchant's are still quoting local deliveries at from 6/3 to 6/6 per sugar bag. Imported onions are almost _ off the market, and merchants still holding supplies are cutting prices to clear their boards. New season’s local onions are finding their way to the market, but not in large enough quantities to justify firm quotations
