STOCK BUYER KILLED
Body Found on Railway Line ACCIDENT NEAR UTIKU Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, December 16. When returning home to Feilding last night after a day’s work drafting, Mr. J. Coulter, a fat stock buyer for the AA’ellington Meat Export Coy., Ltd., with headquarters at Taihape, was killed at a bend in the road near Utiku. His ear skidded, somersaulted across the road and the railway line nearby, and then crashed headlong down a bank. Mr. Coulter was apparently thrown in an unconscious condition on to the railway line, where his mangled body was found this morning, the trains passing during the night having run over him. Mr. Coulter was very well known in Feilding and the surrounding district. He was in the employ of Dalgety and Coy., Ltd., at Feilding, for 25 years. Three years ago he joined the firm of Murray Roberts and Coy., Ltd., and recently took a position with the Wellington Meat Export Coy., Ltd. Mr. Coulter leaves a grown-up family.
