DALLASTON SHIELD

Yachting at Plimmerton The Plimmerton Boating Club held a handicap points race on Saturday for the Dallaston Shield, The boats were started off on their handicaps in the following order:—Corsair, A'anitie, Wellesley 11, with Clyde and Kia Ora on scratch. There was a moderate northerly wind and choppy sea. All boats were sailing well, with a marked improvement in Wellesley 11. At the end of the first round, Clyde had gained a lead, which was gradually increased, and would have resulted in an easy win, but A’anitie capsized, and the race was declared off. The second race for the Porir.ua championship cup will be sailed at Plimmerton on December 26. The first race was won by Torment for Plimmerton, and should Paremata win this race, the third event will be sailed in the Porirua harbour.
