Rainfall for December, 0.04 in.; for year. 34.81 in. Palmerston North— Oppressively warm, despite a north-westerly breeze. Mastertoil.—A perfect summer’s day; light passing clouds; light, north-westerly breeze; brilliant sunshine. Wanganui.— Fine, warm and overcast. Waipukurati.— An extremely hot day with a maximum temperature of Sideg.. dropping by 7 P-m. Io 75deg. The barometer was steady. Auckland. — A fresh northerly wind and very hot weather were experienced today. The barometer fell slightly and registered _9.9oin. Christchurch.— Fine and very warm, with a north-west wind The maximum temperature was 77.2 deg. The barometer was rising slowly, and last evening stood at 29.77 in. Dunedin.— Overcast, with warm showers and n light easterly breeze The conditions were close, the maximum temperature being <6deg. Hie barometer was fairly steady, registering 29.78 in. last night.
