BUILDING ABLAZE

Machine Shop and Contents Damaged ' Fire which broke out in an outbuilding at 135 Adelaide Road, Wellington, shortly after 6 a.m. yesterday, caused considerable damage to the structure aud its contents. The building was used as a machine shop by the Excelsior Furnishing Co. The lire had gained a good hold when it was discovered, but the Are brigade quickly suppressed the outbreak. The cause of the fire is unknown. An early-morning fire in an apart-ment-house at 129 a Tinakori Road yesterday resulted in minor damage to furniture. The fire brigade received a call at 3.23 a.m. The outbreak had its origin in a sitting-room in the front portion of the building. The house, which is a two-story one, was not damaged. The building is owned by Misses A. N. and A. E. Haise, and occupied by Mrs. M. Fabian.
