SUNDAY CONCERT BY PORT NICHOLSON BAND

When the Port Nicholson Silver Baud held its first Sunday night concert at the De Luxe Theatre a fortnight ago the results were more than encouraging. Last night the baud held another concert at the theatre, and received further encouragement. In addition to the screening of “Maid of the Mountains,” an excellent English musieallcomedy, the band played a selection of popular tunes under the direction of Mr. J.. J. Drew. The pieces played included "The Parade of the Tin Soldiers,” with Mr. C. Bell at the xylophone; “A Little Street.” a Glockenspiel •solo; a hymn, "Prayer Song,” and a stirring march, "Golden Friendships.” Once again the band arranged its programme very sensibly so that patrons had ample time in which to catch cars. That the programme was enjoyed was shown by the applause which greeted the band numbers.
