PEACE OR WAR?
Good Response to Student Ballot The student ballot “Peacq or War?” which has been in progress at Victoria University College for the past fortnight as part of a Dominion-wide poll of university students, will close today. Up till Wednesday 420 ballot papers had been lodged, this figure representing approximately 60 per cent, of the total number of students attending the college. There seems no doubt, therefore, that so far as Wellington is concerned an almost fully representative expression’of student views will be obtained. Up till the end of last week 300 votes had been cast at Auckland University College. The ballot closes there this week, following which the papers will be returned.to Wellington. The analysis of the results of the ballot is to be undertaken for the New Zealand University Students’ Association by Dr. C. E. Beeby. executive officer of the New Zealand Council for Educational Research. This task will be a big one and it is not expected that the final results will be available much before the end -of the month.
