September Statistics Vital statistics for Wellington for the month of September and the quarter ended yesterday show ' approximately the same number of births and deaths as in the corresponding part of last year, a larger number of marriages and a larger proportion of registry office marriages. The figures received from the Regis-trar-General yesterday for the past month and the past quarter respectively are:—Births, 143, 441: deaths, 128, 367; marriage notices, 106, 321; marriages by registrar, 41, 106. Figures for the corresponding periods last year are: Births, 143, 437; deaths, 107, 368; marriage notices, 97, 268; marriages by registrar, 22, 68.
