PROPERTY DEAL

Manners Street Block Changes Hands

That central block of property between Farlsli and St. Hill Streets, Wellington, with a frontage to Manners Street, known as part of the Kennedy estate (tbe property of the late Mr. Martin Kennedy) is reported to have changed bands. This block, covered with two-storied premises, the Manners Street frontage of which is occupied by Radford and Co., furnishers, and other shops, has been in the market for several years. At one time a yell* known theatrical firm contemplated buying it for the purpose of erecting thereon an up-to-date theatre, but the plan was not carried out. It was one of tlie properties pooled in Bond Street, Ltd., but on tho failure of that company it reverted to its owners, the Kennedy estate. So far the name of the purchaser has not been revealed, but it is understood that, sooner or later, the change ,of ownership will mean a rebuilding scheme.
