Mr. Campbell Black, who, with Mr. C. W. A. Scott, won the England to Australia speed and handicap races last October, and who was forced to uhandon his attempt at a record-breaking flight to the Cape at Cairo early this month through trouble with ci-gine lubrication, is visiting Ireland this week to select an aerodrome from which to start a flight to Canada and back This is one of the four longdistance flights which he plans io make in the near future in his new Improved Comet monoplane “Boomerang." Two special Gipsy VI 223 horsepower motors are now being prepared for the Canada flight, and the machine should have a range of nearly 3000 miles in still air on one fuel load. The return journey across the North Atlantic Ocean may be accomplished in a little more than 24 hours.
