The death has occurred of Mr. Childe Hassam. the distinguished American artist.
Mr. Childe Hassam. the well-known American painter and etcher was born nt Boston in 1859 and completed his art studies at Paris. He won numerouprizes and medal- for his work, these in eluding a bronze medal nt the Paris Ex h'bition of 1899. a gold medal at the Munich Exhibition in 1892 and a silver medal at the Paris Exhibition in , 1900. His works are included in many of the best-known art collections in the United States.
