Skirmish in Abyssinia

The Governor of the Aussa province of Abyssinia is reported to have said that French Issa tribesmen entered his territory , for the purpose of stealing cattle and sheep. A skirmish followed and 60 Issa were killed. The Ethiopian casualties were not reported. Italians during the past three months have been quietly departing. The “Daily Mail’s" Addis Ababa correspondent says that the Emperor has ordered a sham air raid on Addis Ababa on August 30, to test his orders to the populace as to their behaviour during an air raid. The Italian Consul handed a note to the Emperor requesting the return of the arms but Haile Selassie disclaimed all knowledge of the incident.
