ABOLITION URGED

Primage Duty Burden Members of the council of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation yesterday decided to communicate to the Government their opinion that if conditions permitted any reduction of taxation this year, priority should be given to the abolition of primage duty on all goods imported from the United Kingdom. It was recalled that under the terms of the Ottawa Agreement, the Government of New Zealand was pledged to remove this duty as soon as financial conditions permitted.
