Delayed by Westerly Gales
CALLING AT AUCKLAND
A wireless message received yesterday from Captain Hayashi, master of the Japanese merchant training ship Shlntoku Marti, stated that owing to delays caused by bad weather he is now proceeding to Auckland, where lie hopes to arrive to-morrow. Previous messages received from the vessel reported that she had experienced a succession of westerly gules which had caused considerable delay. The Shin s toku Marti was originally to have arrived tit Wellington on August 17 from the Pacific Coast of America. She'is now a fortnight late, and her stay in New Zealand waters, which originally was to have been eight days, will probably be curtailed. Built at Ko.be in 1924, rite Shinroku Marti Is elaborately equipped as a training ship. A steel four-masted barquent.ine of 2518 tons gross, she liafe auxiliary steam engines driving twin screws.
