Counties’ Association Conference ELECTION OF OFFICERS The election of officers of the New Zealand Counties’ Association, whose annual conference concluded in Wellington yesterday, resulted: President, Mr. C. J. Talbot (Fairlie. South Canterbury) : vice-presidents, Mr. W. Morrison (Maxwell), Mr. J. Ritchie (Bannockburn) ; bon. auditor, Mr. G. A. Monk; executive committee, Messrs. J. W. Anderson (Tirnii). W. G. Belton (Waverley), K. W. Dalrymple (Bulls), C. Matthews (Gisborne), G. A. Monk (Reikorangi). IV. Marshall (Paeroa), W. Tucker (Whakatu, Hastings). M. Bothell (Amur!), F. R. Flatiuan (Geraldine), W. M. Norman (Southland), Hon. W. H. Mclntyre. M.L.C. (Millerton), P. F: Ryan (Paparua).

Mr. Talbot was formally installed as president by Mr. A. E. Jull. M.P.. the retiring president, who congratulated the counties on Mr. Talbot’s election. This was the first time a South Island president had been appointed, said Mr. Jull, but there had never been the playing-off of one island against the other. Mr. Talbot briefly expressed his thanks for the honour conferred upon him. and paid a warm tribute to Mr. Jull for his devoted services to the association.
